According to the announcement made by AEON at the AGM, specific suppliers had already requested a price increase of 3% to 5% in January this year, but after negotiations the suppliers decided to postpone the price increase for 3 to 6 months.
AEON said that it has tried to limit and prohibit price increases as much as possible. However, inflation has exploded around the world and our country is no exception, so it is only a matter of time before AEON raises the prices of its products.
In June, AEON will launch an anti-inflation campaign to help ease the burden on the people. The campaign will help consumers save money by introducing product packages. Consumers will be able to save RM15 to RM20 when they spend RM60 or RM100 on a package of essential products.
AEON raised the minimum wage from RM1,200 to RM1,500 in January this year, with a total of about 3,700 employees benefiting under the minimum wage system.
