A female salesperson lost RM382,517 after a fraud investment.

A female salesperson lost RM382,517 after being misled by an offer from a foreign currency investment company that promised a three-minute profit of three percent.

The 36-year-old victim was briefed on investment businesses claiming to operate ‘green agriculture products, green health industry, and green energy sector,’ according to ACP Mohd Mahidisham Ishak of the Kuala Lumpur Commercial Crime Investigation Department.

The complaint was advised about the Gold Card package, which required a capital of US$150,000 (RM638, 314.10) and promised a three-minute profit of 3% of the total investment.

The complainant was attracted by the promise and made an investment, after which he was given a “username” and password to access the investing network,” he said in a statement today.

From March 29 to April 18, he said, the victim made 27 transactions totaling RM382,517 to six separate accounts for the purpose of the investment after hearing the explanation.

He stated that the complainant believed she had been duped because she was unable to take the promised profit and was still required to complete other investment transactions before filing a police investigation on April 19.

The matter is being investigated for cheating under Section 420 of the Penal Code.

Mohd Mahidisham warned the people to be cautious of any illegal investments and to report any criminal information or suspicious activity to the authorities.
