Booster doses have been given to over 67 percent of Malaysia’s adult population.
As of yesterday, a total of 15,711,005 people, or 66.8% of the adult population in the country, have gotten the Covid-19 booster dose.
According to the CovidNow website, a total of 22,951,201 people, or 97.5 percent of the adult population in the country, have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19, with 23,227,197 people, or 98.7%, receiving at least one dose.
A total of 2,850,360 adolescents aged 12 to 17 have finished the immunisation, accounting for 91.6 percent of the group, while 2,947,122 have received at least one dose, accounting for 94.7 percent.
In Malaysia, a total of 1,319,899 children aged five to eleven have received the first dosage of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme for Children, accounting for 37.2 percent of the child population (PICKids).
A total of 47,608 vaccine doses were given out yesterday, with 40,718 being booster doses, 1,594 being second doses, and 5,296 being first shots, increasing the total number of vaccine doses given out under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK) to 68,795,057.
According to the Health Ministry’s GitHub page, 64 people died as a result of Covid-19 yesterday, with Perak having the most deaths (20), followed by Kedah (eight), Selangor (seven), Penang (six), and Johor (four) (five).
Negri Sembilan and Sarawak each had four cases, Kelantan had three, Melaka, Pahang, and Sabah each had two, and Terengganu had one.
