The Ministry of Education (MOE) has announced that the first, second and sixth grades will return to school as a group starting March 21.
According to the Ministry of Education’s announcement on March 5, elementary schools with fewer than 600 students will return to school as a group from March 21. For elementary schools with more than 600 students, first, second and sixth grades will return to school as a group, while third to fifth graders will continue to return to school in groups.
The Ministry of Education’s measure has drawn criticism from many parents, who said they do not understand why the Ministry of Education uses 600 students to make the distinction, and that schools with less than 600 students are not at risk of contracting coronary diseases.
Some parents do not understand why the first and second grades need to return to school as a group, do elementary school students have stronger immune systems than older students? It is believed that the reason why the Ministry of Education (MOE) has brought back the first and second grades to school is to provide a better learning environment for students, as physical classes are a better experience than online classes, and younger students need the guidance of experienced teachers.
For those parents who do not want to send their children to school for the time being, no disciplinary action will be taken against the students concerned, and the parents will only be required to provide a written letter to the school so that the school can keep track of the students.
