On February 16, the country registered 27,831 new confirmed cases of Covid-19, the highest number of confirmed cases in a single day in our country’s history. Malaysia set a new high of 24,599 new confirmed cases in a single day on August 26 of last year. Today’s total has been surpassed by 27,831 cases.
Health Director Tan Sri Noor Hisham also tweeted yesterday that the country has a high rate of Covid-19 immunisation, and that the recovered people have natural antibodies, thus the country is ready to use Herd Immunity to combat the disease.
In the same post, Noor Hisham stated that our country must endure the Omicron storm and hope that the risk will be eliminated as soon as possible, allowing us to enter the stage of endemicity. This also means that the government will stop enforcing the mobility limitation order that was put in place to combat the disease.
