Houseplants have been increasingly fashionable in recent years, to the point where they’re now considered a decorative essential. The trend has now made its way into every part of the house, including the bathroom. It may seem strange to keep your plants and show off your green thumb in your bathroom, but not only does it transform it into your own personal oasis (truly, a plant-filled bathroom is like a vacation in your own home! ), but it’s also a great place to keep a variety of plants, including some of the most popular ones like snake plants and fiddle leaf figs.
1. Pilea Peperomioides
Pilea Peperomioides is a self-propagating plant that thrives in tropical settings, making it an ideal bathroom plant. It will, however, look better in a bathroom with a window that provides strong to indirect light. The plant, also known as a pancake or UFO plant, has flat, spherical leaves that make for a lovely, fun display—it would look especially cute against polka dot-printed towels or wallpaper!
2. Golden Pothos
If you can’t get enough of trailing plants, the golden pothos will happily settle in your bathroom with all of its vines, where it will thrive in a more humid environment (the tips of its leaves will turn brown if the air is too dry!). As long as the light is indirect, this plant can tolerate anything from mild to bright sunshine.
3. Mini Preserved Living Wall
Perhaps the greatest bathroom plants, in your opinion, are those that take no effort… So, if you’re searching for a decorative plant to brighten up your bathroom wall that doesn’t take any maintenance, go for a “living wall.” The brilliant green moss has been preserved in its prime, so there’s no need to do anything to keep it looking great. Simply put it away.
4. Aloe Vera
The aloe plant is a low-key succulent that’s ideal for first-time houseplant owners or those with a hectic schedule. All it needs to thrive is bright light (indirect is acceptable, but direct sunlight is preferable and may even cause your plant to produce coral-hued blossoms), so put it in a bright position in your bathroom. They’re also fantastic for treating sunburns and skin irritations, making them ideal for a beach home bathroom.
5. Lancifolia Calathea Rattlesnake
The gorgeous calathea plant will thrive in medium indirect light and a moderate to more humid environment. Consider it a symbiotic relationship: the atmosphere in your bathroom will help it live a healthy life, and the gorgeous greenery will give your bathroom new life as well.
