According to the information issued by the Natural Disaster Management Council of Malaysia, a total of 8 areas in Selangor have been classified as Flood Black Zones.

The Malaysian Meteorological Department predicts that more than 10 million people will be affected by the floods in the coming November to early next year. The areas affected are mainly on the east coast.

Of these, 1.8 million people in Kelantan alone are likely to be affected by the floods, while 1.2 million in Terengganu, 1.6 million in Pahang, 4 million in Johor and 2.5 million in Sarawak.

The west coast of the peninsula, Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Kedah are also likely to be affected by flooding towards the end of the year, with 1.9 million people in Kuala Lumpur, 7 million in Selangor and 2.2 million in Kedah.

Don’t take any risks, as many areas that have not been flooded before are now starting to experience flooding. People should take precautions, such as putting important documents in waterproof plastic bags and placing them in high places.

When the authorities give instructions to evacuate,  important documents can be easily retrieved.
