Three domestic banks will be open for exchange of new banknotes on January 17!

Every year before the Lunar New Year, Chinese people like to exchange new banknotes for red packets. The new banknotes can be used to wrap the red packets. Not only can you get a good meaning, but also the younger generation will be happy to receive the new banknotes.

It is understood that Maybank, Hong Leong Bank and Citibank will open for new banknotes from January 17, while CIMB will open for new banknotes only on January 20, Citibank will only open for new banknotes for its own customers, while HSBC will not launch new banknote exchange service this year.

National banks have been encouraging savings in resources and expenses in recent years and are therefore offering fewer new banknotes. Most of the banknotes currently available are reissued bills. If the number you get is consecutive, it is probably a new bill, and if it is not, it is probably a duplicate.

As in previous years, banks such as Maybank, Hong Leong Bank, CIMB and Ambank will offer the service of exchanging new banknotes at designated ATMs where customers can withdraw their money.
