According to a release from Health Director, 27,831 new cases as of 12:00 noon on February 16, for a total confirmed case count of 3,111,514. This is the highest number of new cases in a single day, with 24,599 new cases confirmed on August 26 last year.
Of the 27,831 new confirmed cases, 99.65% or 27,734 were stage I and II cases and 97 or 0.35% were stage III, IV and V cases.
The country saw 22,133 newly confirmed cases on Feb. 15, 21,315 on Feb. 14, 21,072 on Feb. 13, 22,802 on Feb. 12, 20,939 on Feb. 11, 19,090 on Feb. 10, 17,134 on Feb. 9, 13,944 on Feb. 8 and 11,034 on Feb. 7.
Public is urged to wear masks properly, keep physical distance from others, and self-test when symptoms appear.
