2 steps to nominate a beneficiary for your provident fund savings.

07/04/2024

You can nominate a beneficiary for your provident fund savings in 2 steps.

According to information from the Employees Provident Fund Board (KWSP), members only need to take 2 steps to nominate a beneficiary for their provident fund savings. Members can first fill in the beneficiary information at KWSP i-Akaun, and then go to the Provident Fund Bureau counter to stamp their fingerprint to complete the nomination process.

The so-called deposit beneficiary is the beneficiary who has the right to take over the deposit when the member dies in an accident. If a member dies in an accident and there is no designated beneficiary for the provident fund deposit, relatives will face many legal issues when taking over the deposit.

The Employees Provident Fund Board requires fingerprint verification of members when processing a change of provident fund beneficiary. Therefore, it should not happen that the beneficiary is changed without reason. If the beneficiary nominated by the member is under the age of 18, the deposit will be held by the guardian.

If a member wants to change the beneficiary list, whether adding a beneficiary or reducing a beneficiary, the member needs to fill in the names of all beneficiaries again.

Note: The time for online nomination of beneficiaries is from 12 am to 8 pm every day.
