2 Omicron cases in Singapore and there is no community transmission at present

Omicron has entered Singapore!

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Health of Singapore on December 2, 2 citizens and permanent residents who entered Singapore from South Africa were diagnosed with the Omicron! They have been isolated for treatment.

Two patients entered Singapore on Singapore Airlines flight SQ479. After entering Singapore, they were tested for covid-19 and were found to be infected with the Omicron. There is currently no evidence of any community transmission. Both patients had only mild symptoms of cough and hoarseness of the throat.

Omicron is listed as the worst variant strain by the World Health Organization (WHO), and countries around the world are serious about it. Although the emergence of Omicron has caused tension in countries around the world, according to the information disclosed by South African doctors, most patients infected with Omicron have mild symptoms, and the uncomfortable symptoms only last for 1 to 2 days. Some infected people have no obvious symptoms.

The Omicron variant strain has more than 50 mutations, including more than 30 mutations in the spike protein, and the infection rate can reach 500%. The current PCR and RTK-Ag can still effectively detect the Omicron variant virus.
