Travellers may have to pay an entry charge of 300 baht to enter Thailand from 2023!
From 2023, entering Thailand might require you to pay a 300 Baht entry charge!
Thailand is getting ready to charge visitors an entry fee, according to the news released by Pippa, the country’s minister of tourism and sports. There may be an admission cost of 300 Thailand (approximately 37 ringgit) for travellers entering Thailand via air, and there may also be an entry fee for those entering Thailand via land.
Although the Thai government has not yet confirmed the implementation of the admission fee, it is generally anticipated that this measure will only be applicable for foreigners and that Thai citizens may be excused from paying the entry price.
The outbreak has already affected the travel and tourism sector, thus the Thai government decided to postpone the implementation of the entry charge measures until 2022.
Thailand spent 300 to 400 million baht on security between 2017 and 2019. The Thai government noted that the collection of admission fees can ensure that the Thai government and associated companies take better care of tourists.
