The MAE app now allows you to deactivate your M2U access.
Maybank has added a one-click account deactivation function. When an unknown transaction occurs in a bank account, the account can be deactivated with a single click to prevent further unknown transactions.
Cases of theft of bank account deposits emerge on a regular basis, causing people to panic and be afraid to deposit large sums of money in the bank. Bank Negara also urged all banks to upgrade their security systems in order to protect their customers’ deposits, and several domestic banks have launched the function of deactivating bank accounts with a single click.
Users can access the MAE APP by opening it and clicking More in the function bar below. The Kill Switch function will then be visible. Users can deactivate M2u Access by clicking Kill Switch, then Deactivate M2u Access, and finally Deactivate Now.
It is important to note that freezing the account in this manner will prevent you from logging in to Maybank2u via the website or APP, and you will no longer be able to use Maybank2u for transactions.
However, this method of deactivation has no effect on Auto Debit or Standing Instructions, which are the user-defined automatic debit instructions. This also has no bearing on ATM withdrawals, ATM transfers, or debit or credit card use.
