4 cases of respiratory infections were reported, most of which involved students.

Yesterday, a total of four respiratory illness cases were reported, bringing the overall tally of infections—251—to 251. The majority of these infections involved schoolchildren.

In a statement released today, the Ministry of Health (MoH) stated that three incidents included preschoolers and one case was a student at a higher education institution.

Perak had the most cases as of yesterday with 48; Selangor was second with 33; Kuala Lumpur was third with 30; Pahang had 24; Kedah had 23, while Johor had 16; Penang had 14, Melaka had 13, Terengganu had 11, and Negri Sembilan had 9.

8 cases were reported in Perlis, two in Sarawak, and none in Sabah or Labuan.

With 213 cases, schools reported the most infections, followed by preschools (16), institutions/colleges (10), residences (6), care facilities (4), workplaces (1 case), and prisons/drug treatment facilities (1 case). No fatalities were reported.
