A Muslim woman, age 20, who has mental illness due to relationship problems, attempted suicide by climbing on the bridge railing but was talked down from her plan.
The Putrajaya Police District’s director, Assistant Superintendent Asmadi Abdul Aziz, said the incident occurred at 6:25 yesterday morning on the Putrajaya Seri Wawasan Bridge.
He claimed that a woman with a history of mental illness attempted suicide by climbing over the railing due to tensions with her boyfriend but was talked out of it by strangers.
The police have taken the woman in for a checkup at the hospital, and the investigation is ongoing.
Asmadi pleaded with the public not to speculate or spread rumors before the investigation was complete.
