When you’re not wearing a face mask, you won’t be getting any summonses.

You will not get any summonses if you do not wear face masks.

The Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act of 1988 (Act 342) will not be enforced by the government, and no one will face punishment. Public health is well known and understood, and we are getting near to living regular lives again. Even social and commercial events have been held, and group gatherings have been permitted.

People will therefore need to take care of themselves and adopt new behaviours, such as isolating themselves and wearing a face mask if they exhibit Covid-19 symptoms in addition to filing a report on the MySejahtera app.

In addition to being required on public transportation and in all healthcare facilities, the public was advised to wear face masks in congested areas. The Ministry of Health (MOH) had ruled that guests were no longer needed to wear face masks indoors, but that property owners could still decide whether they were required.

Because Covid-19 cases were still being reported and there were still issues to take care of and regulate, Malaysia earlier transitioned to an endemic phase.
