When the country enters a transition period, nightclubs are still on the negative list.
Nightclubs will not be allowed to reopen when Malaysia enters the endemic stage on April 1, 2022, according to Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin.
He claimed that nightclubs are not the same as mamak eateries and that reopening such establishments is too risky for the time being. Only one sort of premises or premises is still on the negative list that cannot reopen after April 1, 2022, and that is nightclubs, due to their unique nature.
During a press conference from Parliament today, he said that they’ve looked into it and, based on the balance of risk assessment, nightclubs are high-risk premises even during the endemic phase and, as such, cannot be allowed to reopen.
Malaysia plans to enter the endemic stage on April 1 this year, and most businesses are expected to resume normal operations.
Mamak eateries and restaurants can now operate according to the hours specified in their licences, resuming their 24-hour operation.
Malaysia intends to enter the endemic stage this year, with borders reopening on April 1.
Despite the latest reports of a large number of cases and deaths, this remains the fact. When asked if it was safe to do so, Khairy alluded to the fatality rate, saying that many of the fatalities were caused by those who had not received their booster doses.
Only 12% of the people were given a boost, according to the study. As a result, becoming supercharged is critical. The fatality rate for persons over the age of 80 is 7%, which is extremely high for that age group. In addition, 91% of the fatalities had comorbidities, with hypertension accounting for 61% of the total. According to Khairy, they are aware of the characteristics of the deaths and will take steps to raise public awareness as well as continuing to encourage people to get their immunizations and booster shots.
