26/10/2023

Notice! WhatsApp will retire another batch of old phones, and WhatsApp will stop supporting these old phones.

According to information on the official website of WhatsApp, a batch of old mobile phones will be phased out starting from October 24, 2023. This includes mobile phones that are still running Android 5.0 or below and iOS 12 or below, and will no longer receive WhatsApp updates.

To know whether their phone is affected, Android phone users can go into the phone’s Settings, find About Phone, and then click Software Information to check the operating system version their phone is running. Apple phone users can open Settings, enter General, and select About to view it.

In addition, WhatsApp has also updated the relevant conditions for setting up new accounts, that is, the mobile phone must be able to receive text messages or incoming calls to complete the verification process. Setting up new accounts on devices that are only connected to WiFi is currently not supported.

WhatsApp has officially launched a new feature that allows you to log in to two WhatsApp accounts on the same APP. This feature will be rolled out to all users in stages.
