WhatsApp is currently testing a pay feature — WhatsApp Pay — and will be working with Meta’s company NOVI, according to foreign media reports!
According to the report, WhatsApp Pay is a new feature in the latest BETA version of WhatsApp. It is understood that if users want to open the WhatsApp Pay feature, they need to make real name authentication on WhatsApp. It seems that besides China, Meta has also started to do the real name authentication thing.
As we know, Novi is an e-wallet owned by Meta, and instructs users to transfer money to their bank accounts in various countries through its own exchange rate. Currently, Novi’s service can be used in the United States and Guatemala, and transactions can be made through virtual currencies supported by the U.S. government. We understand that all future financial transactions and paid services will be conducted by Novi.
To use the Novi e-wallet, users will need to submit a government-issued document before they can open Novi access. Since WhatsApp Pay transactions are made using Novi, identity verification will be required for transactions through WhatsApp Pay or for using WhatsApp Pay.
