What model will primary and secondary schools adopt when classes start next year? The Ministry of Education will soon announce the start of classes in primary and secondary schools next year.
The Ministry of Education is still in the process of finalizing the opening of primary and secondary schools in 2022 and will make an announcement in the near future, according to a message from Senior Minister of Education Razgiddin.
The Ministry of Education may change the rotating pattern of returning to school as the vaccination rate for youth has reached 90%. It is possible that all students will return to school in groups at the start of classes in 2022, but the Ministry of Education has not yet made an official announcement. Previously published back-to-school guidelines from the Ministry of Education are only valid until Dec. 10 and 11.
Primary and secondary schools in Group A states (Kedah, Johor, Kelantan and Terengganu) will be closed from December 10 until January 1. Primary and secondary schools in Group B (other states) will be closed from Dec. 11 until Jan. 2. Schools in these states will resume classes on January 3 (Monday).
In addition, Senior Minister of Education Razkiuddin also promised to give RM150 start-up assistance to students whose family income does not exceed RM3,000. The Ministry of Education will use the latest family income information to distribute the aid, so parents do not have to worry about their income decreasing during the epidemic and not getting the start of school aid.
