According to a message from the Minister of Health, people can choose whether to wear a mask in public from now on, although it will still be compulsory to wear a mask when travelling on public transport and in hospitals.
However, it is important to note that businesses and industry still have the right to decide whether to make the wearing of masks compulsory. Government strongly urges people to wear masks in crowded areas such as night markets, stadiums and places of worship.
For those with symptoms, such as fever, cough and cold, masks are strongly recommended. High-risk groups such as the elderly, pregnant women and people with chronic illnesses are also encouraged to wear masks. Those who share a room with high-risk groups are also advised to wear masks.
In the event of another serious outbreak in the country, the government will implement further mandatory mask wearing measures.
