After roughly two weeks of silence, musician Wang Leehom and his estranged wife Lee Jinglei have once more exchanged words and allegations regarding their divorce and custody dispute.
A Chinese netizen allegedly leaked papers from the fighting couple’s court proceedings in New York last Friday (Feb 11), alleging that Lee, 35, had not provided any proof for the claims she had made against Wang, 45, but he had already filed 11 items of proof.
The paperwork, which has yet to be validated, also indicated that Wang’s authorised staff had filed a motion against Lee for allegedly violating their custody agreement.
Wang’s attorneys have filed papers against Lee for the third time.
Lee is the mother of three children: Jiali, seven, Jiana, five, and Jiayao, three.
Hours later, Lee’s counsel issued a statement questioning the source of the leak, citing the fact that the court documents had not been made public and had been submitted anonymously.
“Mr Wang rejected our deal, froze our account and actual property property that might be used and disposed of in response to the settlement, cut off our monetary assets, and launched the action in New York,” Lee claimed in the assertion.
“In addition to pushing the burden of authorized charges on me, Mr Wang was reluctant to pay even the most elementary youngster assist and appealed to the New York court to make us pay for his authorized charges.”
She asked her spouse of eight years to “abide by the agreement, take accountability in your promises, let go, complete the matter as soon as possible, stop making the same mistake again, and stop hurting others and yourself.”
Lee’s side subsequently published a statement, saying, “The divorce has provoked a media trial and unreasonable online bullying.” Regardless of who was attacked, they are the children’s father or mother.
“The United States court ordered each side to cease publicly attacking one another in the curiosity of the kids. It is regrettable that false accusations and statements are being unfold once more.”
The former couple has been embroiled in a social media feud since news of their split leaked, with Lee accusing Wang of a slew of infidelities in a surprise expose in December 2021.
The Mandopop star later apologised and announced that he would be taking a hiatus from his current venture.
