Parents can begin registering their children for vaccinations by the end of January while vaccination appointments will be sent out on Jan. 31, with the schedule beginning Feb. 3.
The government expects Pfizer’s children vaccine to arrive in the country on Jan. 31, and vaccination appointments for children will be sent out through MySejahtera on Jan. 31, with children in the Klang Valley being the first to receive the vaccine. Parents are asked to keep a close eye on their MySejahtera.
Children between the ages of 5 and 11 will receive two doses of the vaccine, with the first and second doses eight weeks apart.
Children with chronic respiratory disease, cardiovascular disease, immunodeficiency, diabetes, chronic kidney disease and neurological disease will be given priority for vaccination.
The Ministry of Health recently approved Pfizer’s covid vaccine (Comirnaty) 10mcg for children aged 5 to 11 years at one-third the dose for adults.
