Compassionate Relief Trust (STR) is a government assistance program that aims to alleviate the burden of the low income group. Single persons with a monthly income of up to RM2,500 and families with a monthly income of up to RM5,000 are eligible for the grant.
The STR assistance grant is divided into 4 installments, that is, January, April, June and November. The third phase of the STR grant has been disbursed to eligible persons since June 26 and the fourth phase of the STR grant is expected to be disbursed in November.
Families with monthly income not exceeding RM2,500 can receive up to RM1,200, families with monthly income between RM2,501 and RM5,000 can receive up to RM500, and single elderly persons with monthly income not exceeding RM5,000 can receive RM200.
2. E-wallet (Kredit e-Tunai)
As long as your annual income does not exceed RM100,000, you will be entitled to receive RM100 e-Tunai from the government. This e-cash will be distributed through e-wallets and it is not clear which e-wallet will be participating in this program.
The objective of the program is to advocate and educate people on the future of the digital economy, which is a cashless society. The program will benefit 10 million people and the government has allocated RM1 billion to launch the program. Once this e-cash is in the market, it will stimulate economic activities in the country and will be a boon for businessmen.
