24/03/2022

Attention! If 2 groups have not received their booster shots, they will lose their yellow vaccination status from April.

According to a message from Health Minister Khairy, all people over the age of 60 who have received the Sinovac vaccine and those over the age of 18 will need to receive a booster shot by April 1, 2022. The government will not extend this measure any longer.

Anyone who has not received a booster after April 1 will have a white MySejahtera status, meaning that the vaccination has not been completed.

The Ministry of Health predicts that the vaccination status of about 2 million people will turn white. The Ministry of Health encourages people to get vaccinated as soon as possible to avoid losing the benefit of being fully vaccinated.

In addition, Health Minister Khairy said that Malaysia will continue to implement the standard operating procedures (SOPs) for wearing masks, and that the country will not follow Singapore’s example of allowing people to choose whether to wear masks outdoors or not.
