Let’s see what the main problems are first~.
Issue 1: Router Location
There is a limit to the coverage of your router, normal network coverage is 100m and if there is a wall in the way, it will have a big impact on the signal!
If you want your network to be unobstructed from your room to the toilet, then the best location for the router is in the middle of the house, or high up, where there is no clutter and no obstructions.
Issue 2: WIFI signal interference
When you are in a lift, you may not be able to get through to a phone because of reception problems. Similarly, the WIFI signal at home can be blocked or even interfered with by metal objects or electromagnetic devices around it, thus affecting the coverage and reducing the internet speed
Avoid placing metal objects around the router and avoid all reflective/sliding metal objects such as microwave ovens, televisions, electric fans, induction cookers, electric mixers, grinders, toasters, etc.
Issue 3: Multiple simultaneous internet connections
If you live in a large area or on more than one floor, or have more people using the wireless network at the same time, you may experience problems with the signal not being strong enough, or getting stuck or disconnected.
So avoid connecting multiple devices to your router at the same time if you don’t have to! Alternatively, download Wi-Fi Analser/Optimiser from your mobile app and check the speed, Wi-Fi signal strength, number of links and WiFi interference around you to see if anyone is sniffing around your network!
Issue 4:Check if your location is a Wi-Fi signal dead zone
This really is inevitable! After all, there is only one router, and if you have a large house with two floors above and below, you are bound to have a dead spot!
You can try Unifi Mesh WiFi to solve this. Mesh WiFi allows for an extended network that doesn’t halve the rate, is more stable and the whole network is like a hive, not just a point to point connection, it does it all! It’s also easy to install, you just need to connect your main route to the Mesh WiFi with a network cable and power it on to automatically extend your home WiFi coverage.
