The 80% discount on traffic tickets will not be extended!
According to the news issued by the Deputy National Commissioner Dato’ Seri Mazlan, the 80% discount on traffic tickets that was launched in conjunction with the 100 Days of Malaysian Family series will not be extended. This means that the traffic ticket discount offer will only be available until December 12.
The 80% discount on traffic tickets started on December 9 and people can pay the amount owed through the traffic police counter and MyBayar Saman online system. The traffic ticket discount offer was well received by the traffic police, with crowds at the police counters and the MyBayar Saman online system experiencing slowdowns and downtime.
Many people have called on the traffic police to extend the traffic ticket discount offer, but the deputy chief of police has said that the offer will not be extended. He urged people to be patient and avoid peak hours, such as midday and evening.
As of 12 noon on December 10, there were 287,500 tickets settled throughout Malaysia and the amount received for the tickets was RM13,676,250. Through the MyBayar Saman online system, 74,312 tickets were resolved, involving a fine of RM3,403,001.
