Touch ‘n Go eWallet will implement a new measure that will give users a 48-hour cooling-off period when logging in on a new device.
According to a message from Touch ‘n Go eWallet, users will face a 48-hour cooling-off period when they login to their account using unsecured methods or when they login to their account on a new device.
During the 48-hour cooling-off period, users will be limited to a certain amount when paying or topping up their eWallet, and any transactions over that amount will automatically be declined.
You may wonder why transactions can be made during the cooling-off period, but One Touch eWallet points out that this is to prevent users from being unable to pay when passing through toll booths or paying parking fees.
In addition, One Touch eWallet has also implemented a number of new measures, such as the fact that each account can only be bound to one cell phone, and that users need to unbind their old cell phone first when they change it. If the user is unable to unbind on the old phone, he or she will need to log in to the account through other secure authentication methods.
The One Touch eWallet is also gradually replacing SMS TAC with a facial recognition system, which will ensure that the transactions are authorized by the users themselves.
