Touch ‘n Go eWallet has officially launched the ability to make cross-border payments in mainland China.
According to a release from Touch ‘n Go eWallet, Touch ‘n Go eWallet will be partnering with Alibaba Alipay to expand cross-border payments to mainland China. eWallet will be the first Malaysian eWallet to support payments in China.
To use Touch ‘n Go eWallet’s cross-border payment function, you can open the Touch ‘n Go eWallet APP and then go to the Pay function. Then, pull up the “Swipe up to pay abroad via Alipay” at the bottom of the app and you will be taken to the foreign payment page.
You can select the country or currency you want to pay in and then present the QR code to the merchant to scan. After selecting the country or currency you want to pay in, the page will display the exchange rate directly, and the whole process is very transparent.
This cross-border payment feature supports payments not only in mainland China, but also in Singapore, Japan, Korea, Philippines, Australia, UK, France, Germany and Italy.
