According to PLUS, users will still need to carry their Touch ‘n Go cards when travelling between April 30 and May 8, and will need to use their Touch ‘n Go cards or SmartTag to pass through the toll booths.
This is to enable the traffic flow on the highway to be recorded. When the Touch ‘n Go card or SmartTag is scanned at the toll booths of the nine thoroughfares, no toll will be deducted.
Prime Minister recently announced that 30 thoroughfares will be exempted from tolls with discounts ranging from 30% to 50%. 9 thoroughfares will be exempted from tolls, 8 tolled thoroughfares will enjoy a 50% discount on tolls and 13 thoroughfares will enjoy a 30% discount on tolls. The promotion period is from 12 midnight on April 30 to 11.59pm on May 1 and 12 midnight on May 7 to 11.59pm on May 8, 2022.
