To help people tide over the epidemic, the Government has launched a number of assistance schemes. B40, M40 and micro-enterprises are eligible for government assistance. Here’s a tour for you.
1. BPR
The Bantuan Prihatin Rakyat (BPR) was paid in three tranches, the first and second tranches were paid in February and May, and the third tranche will be paid in September. If you don’t file your appeal until June, you can get the money in September if you successfully appeal. However, it is not ruled out that the government will delay the disbursement of the third batch of BPR aid.
2. BKC
The Bantuan Khas Covid-19 (BKC) was announced by former Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin in June. The BKC aid was supposed to be distributed in August, but it has yet to be distributed due to the transition of government. It is believed that the BKC grant will be released in September.
3. GKP4.0
The Geran Khas Prihatin (GKP4.0) is open for application in July and eligible SMEs and micro-businesses will receive the grant in September and November, RM500 in September and RM500 in November.
