Three French climbers are said to have gone missing in the Cameron Highlands.
Three French nationals, two of whom are women, are said to have gone missing while climbing Gunung Berembun in Tanah Rata.
After receiving a distress call from one of the victims at 4.56pm today, Pahang Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Zone 3 commander Shahrul Nizam Nasir said seven members of the Cameron Highlands Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) were dispatched to the scene.
When the fire and rescue team arrived at the scene, they discovered that the three people had gone missing while climbing the mountain.
He further stated that the crew is currently climbing the mountain in order to locate the missing victims as part of a search and rescue mission.
The Special Tactical Operations and Rescue Malaysia Team (STORM) and the Multi Skill Team (MUST) are also on standby to help with the operation if necessary, he said.
