Those who have not returned PTPTN should pay attention to the government’s reimplementation of “Prohibiting those who owe PTPTN from leaving the country”! You can’t go abroad if you don’t pay back the money!

According to Sin Chew Daily, those who owe Perbadanan Tabung Pengajian Tinggi Nasional (PTPTN) will be banned from going abroad again!

During the administration of the Pakatan Harapan government, in June 2018, the names of borrowers in arrears with PTPTN loans were removed from the blacklist banned from going abroad. At that time, approximately 166,155 names were deleted.

However, according to the 12th Malaysia Plan, the government will strengthen PTPTN’s strategy to deal with violators or offenders, including law enforcement and re-implementation of the ban on leaving the country.

Chapter 10 “Developing Future Talents” of the 12th Malaysia Plan points out that the government will also share relevant data with other government agencies.

According to the report, PTPTN will review its student loan policy to make it more sustainable in the long run, including providing loans for majors with high employment rates, which has ensured a higher loan repayment rate.
