The number of evacuees in Sabah and Johor has decreased.
This afternoon, the number of flood evacuees in Sabah and Johor fell from 1,735 to 1,573.
The number of flood victims in Sabah has decreased to 642 people from 192 families who have been evacuated to 14 temporary relief centres (PPS), down from 758 people from 220 families reported this morning.
Telupid has the most evacuees, with 309 people from 92 families currently being housed in seven PPS.
Paitan has three PPS housing 123 people from 46 families, Beaufort has one PPS housing 118 people from 33 families, Beluran has two PPS housing 47 people from 9 families, and Lahad Datu has one PPS housing 45 people from 12 families.
The number of evacuees is expected to decrease in Telupid, while other districts are expected to remain unchanged.
In Johor, all PPS in the Kota Tinggi district have been closed, leaving only two districts — Batu Pahat and Segamat — affected by the floods for the time being.
As of 2 p.m. this afternoon, the number of evacuees in the state had dropped to 931 from 977 earlier this morning.
According to the Johor JBPN, eight PPS, housing 266 families, are still operating in Batu Pahat and Segamat, with Batu Pahat registering 873 people and Segamat housing 58 evacuees.
Except for Johor Baru, the weather in nine districts is expected to be sunny.
Meanwhile, Sungai Bekok in Batu Pahat remained dangerously high, with a reading of 18.76 metres and an upward trend.
