Thirteen highway toll fares in the Klang Valley may be reduced!

According to the Senior Minister of Works Dato’ Sri Haji Fadillah as quoted by Oriental Daily News, the Ministry of Works is negotiating with 3 concessionaires in Klang Valley to reduce the toll fees, which are GAMUDA), Prolintas and IJM.

The Ministry of Works has already received proposals from the three concessionaires. Which propose to reduce the toll or set a fixed toll rate for the road until the end of the concession period. The proposal will be submitted to the Cabinet for discussion.

If successful in negotiating a reduction in toll rates, the same model will be extended to toll rates for thoroughfares outside the Klang Valley, such as Penang and Johor.

GAMUDA currently holds the concessions for four thoroughfares in the Klang Valley, namely LDP, SPRINT, KESAS and SMART.

Prolintas holds 6 concessions, which are the Ampang-Kuala Lumpur Elevated Highway (AKLEH), Gadjah Corridor Boulevard (GCE), Lebuhraya Kemuning Shah Alam (LKSA), Kajang Outer Ring Road (SILK), Damansara-Shah Alam Elevated Expressway (DASH), and Sungai Besi-Ulu Kelang Elevated Expressway (SUKE).

IJM holds concessions for three thoroughfares, namely BESRAYA, NPE, and LEKAS.
