There will be a super moon during the Mid-Autumn Festival this year!

This year’s Mid-Autumn Festival falls on September 29 (Friday). On this night, there will be a super moon, which will be the third full moon this year.

The best time to watch the super moon is at 9 pm on September 29. After the sun sets, the big and round moon will slowly rise. The supermoon can be viewed anywhere as long as the weather is good.

There will be four super moons in 2023, including the Buck Moon in July, the last Fish Moon in early August, the Blue Moon in late August, and the Harvest Moon on September 29.

The so-called super means that when the Earth and the Moon are at their closest distance, the recent Moon appears larger than before. A supermoon is not an astronomical concept, but comes from the term moon proposed by American astrologer Richard Noelle in 1979.
