There may be a new wave of price increases in May!

The government will implement the RM1500 minimum salary system from May 1, which is generally expected to drive up department stores in the country. Although the government has not yet announced the details of the implementation of the minimum salary, but according to the previously announced information, the RM1500 minimum salary is only applicable to large enterprises and government government-linked companies.

 

The war between Russia and Ukraine has been going on for more than 40 days since the end of February, and the spike in raw materials and supply chain disruptions caused by the war are festering internationally. International crude oil prices have also been high, which has had a serious impact on the transportation industry, particularly air and sea freight. The increase in transportation costs is also starting to be reflected in prices.

 

Russia and Ukraine are major wheat producers and the war has led to shortages of wheat. Flour has also been increased several times this year, previously it was about RM21 per box, then it was increased to RM24, and now it has been increased again to RM27.50. The price of flour also pulled up the price of domestic pasta, coffee shops cooked food are brewing price increases.

 

Not only that, canned foods have also been raised prices, between 30 to 40 sen, the affected canned goods including luncheon meat, sardines, button meat, green beans, etc..

 

In the era of rising department stores, people can only tighten their belts to live.
