There is no need to apply manually for the RM150 back-to-school assistance, and the Ministry of Education will issue it based on existing records.
According to the message issued by Education Minister Farina, parents and guardians of students can automatically receive the RM150 Back-to-school Assistance Payment (BAP) without filling in an application form. The school-opening aid is expected to be distributed to all primary and secondary school students in January 2024.
The Back-to-School Assistance Payment (BAP) will help parents reduce the burden of starting school. Each student will receive RM150 and will be distributed in January. The government has allocated a total of RM788.13 million as back-to-school assistance, which can benefit a total of 5.254200 students.
Parents of students will be able to receive the back-to-school aid in cash, or by direct payment to the student’s bank account.
The previous government launched the back-to-school assistance fund many years ago, but at that time it only distributed RM100, and only students from low-income groups could benefit. However, starting in 2023, the government will increase the amount of school-opening assistance and expand it to all students.
