There are still 6,009 flood evacuees in Pasir Mas as of 8 a.m.

As of 8 a.m. today, the number of flood evacuees in the Pasir Mas district had not changed from 1,952 families to 6,009 families.

The evacuees were placed at 13 relief centers, according to the Info Bencana portal run by the Social Welfare Department.

SK Gual To’Deh (813 victims from 264 families), SK Sri Rantau Panjang (2) (1,881 from 629 families), Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Gual Periok (153 victims from 41 families), and Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Gual Tinggi are housing 903 victims from 296 families.

In the meantime, there are 210 victims from 55 families at Madrasah Tasek Bakong, 131 victims from 55 families at Mukim Padang Licin Mosque, 345 victims from 107 families at SK Sri Kiambang, and 84 victims from 22 families at SMK (A) Lati.

Five other relief centres, namely, SK Chicha Tinggi is sheltering 249 victims from 70 families, SK Lati (223 victims from 62 families), SMK Baroh Pial (710 victims from 260 families), SK Gual Periok (269 victims from 79 families) and SK Kedai Tanjong (38 victims from 12 families). In addition to the ongoing flood situation in Pasir Mas, five relief centers have been established to provide shelter and support for those affected. These centers play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of evacuees, offering a safe haven for families impacted by the floods. As of the latest update, SK Chicha Tinggi is currently accommodating 249 victims from 70 families, while SK Lati is providing shelter for 223 victims from 62 families.

Notable is the situation at SMK Baroh Pial, where 710 victims—representing 260 families—are seeking asylum. Similarly, in the face of difficult circumstances, SK Gual Periok has taken in 269 evacuees from 79 families, providing a place of refuge. Furthermore, SK Kedai Tanjong is providing assistance to 38 victims from 12 families, which is part of the joint endeavor to guarantee the security and welfare of the impacted community members.

These centers are crucial hubs for coordinating aid, distributing necessary supplies, and giving those in need medical attention as relief efforts pick up steam. Navigating through and lessening the effects of the floods in Pasir Mas is made possible in large part by the community’s resilience and the cooperative response from volunteers and authorities.
