There are still 4 long weekends off this year!

17/08/2022

There are 4 more long weekend holidays this year!

When a public holiday falls on a Friday or Monday, plus the Saturday and Sunday weekends, this will create a 3-day long weekend holiday. If a public holiday falls on a Sunday, you will have a compensatory holiday on Monday, which will also create a 3-day long weekend holiday.

This year, Malaysia’s sunset falls on Friday, September 16, so with Saturday and Sunday, it will be a 3-day long weekend holiday. Johor, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu, where the weekends originally fall on Friday and Saturday, will also enjoy a 3-day long weekend holiday.

October 9 is the birth anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad, and since October 9 falls on a Sunday, the holiday will be replaced on Monday, October 10. Tu B’Shevat falls on Monday, October 24, and with the addition of 2 weekends off, this is a 3-day long weekend holiday. This year, Christmas Day falls on a Sunday, so you can enjoy a compensatory holiday on Monday.

Whenever there is a long weekend holiday, there will be traffic queues on all thoroughfares in the country, so you should be prepared to face heavy traffic jams when you go out for a long weekend vacation.
