Coinciding with International Women’s Day on March 8, Samsung announced the opening of its first offline store in India staffed entirely by women, not only to coincide with International Women’s Day celebrations, but also as part of the # PoweringDigitalIndia initiative.
According to a report by IT House, the Samsung-related offline store is located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, and the opening of an offline store staffed entirely by women is intended to bolster Samsung’s market share in India by boosting the strength of Indian women.
This offline store is even equipped with a new Samsug Smart Café, also with an all-female staff. In addition, store managers, Samsung Experience Advisors, and other employees have received training in the Samsung Galaxy ecosystem as well as other specialised training, including accounting, inventory management, and customer service.
Samsung is excited to open its first all-female offline store in India and is confident in the possibilities that Samsung’s women’s team will bring, said Ken Kang, president and CEO of Samsung Southwest Asia, in a statement. Samsung’s Ken Kang said Samsung is focused on increasing the number of women in its workplace and hopes to develop the company’s next generation of female leaders through its various gender-friendly programs.
