The Works Ministry claims that they are prepared to handle floods during this monsoon season.
Given that the upcoming monsoon season is anticipated to cause flooding, the Works Ministry (KKR) is prepared to handle the situation.
It includes, according to senior works minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, the establishment of disaster team operations rooms at the state and district levels. They are also equipped with our equipment, and by taking these precautions, they will guarantee that roads in flood zones will always be accessible.
If certain highways are impassable, they will give rescue teams directions to accessible alternate routes so they can assist flood victims, especially those bringing food and medical supplies.
After visiting the location of the slope collapse in Jalan Bentong-Gua Musang as part of the Jelajah FTRoadpedia Zon Timur 3.0 initiative run by the KKR, he informed reporters this.
The director-general of the Public Works Department, Datuk Seri Mohamad Zulkefly Sulaiman, and the secretary-general of the Works Ministry, Datuk Wira Wan Ahmad Uzir Wan Sulaiman, were also in attendance.
According to Fadillah, KKR’s focus is not just on flood-prone states like those on the East Coast, but also on all other states with a history of flooding that could happen in the future.
Regarding the slope collapse at Jalan Bentong-Gua Musang, he said the RM4.5 million rehabilitation work, which took six months, was totally finished on July 19.
Alhamdulillah, the Federal Road Section 85.7 Jalan Bentong-Gua Musang slope collapse that happened last December as a result of flooding in that area has been fixed.
In order to examine post-flood infrastructure repairs, Federal Road maintenance, and KKR public infrastructure projects, the three-day Jelajah FTRoadpedia Zon Timur programme got underway today with an expedition to three states, namely Pahang, Kelantan, and Perak.
