The Sarawak Domestic Trade Ministry is in contact with suppliers to resolve the Limbang egg shortage.
According to Deputy Minister of Rural Development Datuk Hasbi Habibollah, the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs is in discussions with egg providers in Sibu to accommodate local demand.
For the previous few months, the Limbang MP stated, the area has been short 6,000 trays of chicken eggs.
According to information from the ministry here, there are three significant weekly egg suppliers to Limbang. The eggs were only supplied once every two weeks due to transportation challenges,” he told reporters at a Kelab Rukun Tetangga (KRT) Limbang appreciation banquet on Thursday, Hasbi reported.
Hasbi said the ministry was talking to egg suppliers about how to deal with the transportation problem that was causing a scarcity. Because of the forthcoming fasting month (Ramadan), Hari Raya, and Gawai Dayak, this is important. Hasbi also pushed members of the KRT to improve their positions, particularly in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Mohd Fakri Asmat, a Limbang Unity official, recommended each KRT unit in Limbang to make full use of government grants to carry out activities and programmes for the community’s welfare.
