Two prisoners successfully used a toothbrush to dig a hole in the prison wall at the Newport News jail in Virginia, the United States. They were in a pancake shop after the two had made their escape for roughly 11.3 kilometers.
Prisoners John Garza, 36, and Arley Nemo, 43, were discovered missing during a countdown on March 20 night, according to a CBS News report. As it turned out, the two dug a breach in the jail wall using toothbrushes and other metal objects and successfully made their way out by using security weaknesses.
The two walked to a chain Pancake restaurant for dinner the next night after making their getaway from the prison, which was around 11.3 km away. They called the police when they were located, who quickly captured them. They were only free for nine hours.
