The government will not launch an EPF withdrawal plan for the flood victims!

Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri revealed that the government has no intention of launching an EPF withdrawal plan for now to provide emergency relief for the victims. The Prime Minister pointed out that the government has provided sufficient aid funds to assist the victims.

Severe floods broke out in many states last weekend, causing many victims to suffer heavy losses. Cars, furniture, household items, clothes, food, etc. have all been destroyed by the floods. People have asked the government to extend the i-Citra withdrawal plan and allow them to withdraw funds from their EPF accounts up to RM10,000.

Umno chairman Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid also posted on Facebook to aksed for the government to extend the i-Citra provident fund withdrawal plan. He believes that many victims suffered heavy losses in the floods, and the financial assistance provided by the government is still insufficient to help them.

Ahmad Zahid and former Prime Minister Najib have repeatedly asked for the government to extend the i-Citra EPF withdrawal plan, but Finance Minister Tengku Zafrul has not made any reply yet, but the KWSP issued a message stating that i-Citra, i-Sinar, and i-Lestari are all one-off measures and will not be extended after the withdrawal plan ends.

If the government can allow EPF members to withdraw up to RM10,000 from i-Citra, then this will effectively help people reduce their burden of living.
