The Prime Minister is expected to announce the reopening of the border on March 8 (Tuesday)!

According to a message from Health Minister Kerry, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri will announce the reopening of our borders and details on March 8. The reopening of our borders is closely related to the coverage of booster shots, and people are urged to hurry up and get the booster shots.

According to the COVIDNOW website, as of March 7, 46% of the population had received their booster shots, 78.9% had completed two doses of the vaccine and 83.2% had received at least one dose of the vaccine.

In February, the Tan Sri Muhyiddin-dominated National Recovery Council recommended that the government open the borders fully on March 1 to allow foreigners who have been vaccinated and tested to be exempted from quarantine measures when entering the country. This measure surprised and disturbed many people in the country, and the border was not fully opened on March 1.

The country has also signed Vaccine Travel Lanes (VTL) with Southeast Asian countries, such as Singapore, Brunei, Thailand and Cambodia. Those who enter the country by VTL will only need to be tested for coronary disease before and after entering the country and then they will be exempted from mandatory quarantine.

Do you, as a Malaysian, agree to reopen the border so that people entering the country will not be subject to mandatory quarantine after being tested for coronary artery disease?
