Do you eat instant noodles on a regular basis? The price of instant noodles has risen over the last six months.

Malaysia is one of the countries with the highest consumption of instant noodles. Every year, Malaysians consume at least 3.6 million packets of instant noodles. Several Malaysian instant noodle brands have been shortlisted for the top ten spots in the world’s best instant noodles. “MyKuali-Penang White Curry Noodle Soup” came in third, “Red Chef-Sakura Shrimp Spicy Soup Noodle” came in fifth, and “Red Chef-Green Sour Spicy Soup Noodle” came in seventh.

Despite numerous rumours about the health risks of instant noodles, sales of instant noodles in our country have not been affected. Many low-income families eat instant noodles on a daily basis, and many college students eat them to satisfy their hunger.

The price of instant noodles has risen by 5% to 10% since November, and the rise in instant noodles imported from abroad is even more concerning. Mi Sedaap has been increased by approximately 50 sen, Maggi by approximately 70 to 80 sen, and Cintan by approximately 50 to 70 sen.

Low-income families also complain about being unable to afford instant noodles.
