The number shown in MySJ Trace is not the number of confirmed patients!

02/01/2022

MySejahtera launched MySJ Trace last week to replace the Check-out feature, which requires users to enable their phone’s Bluetooth and location when using MySejahtera, and the system will automatically detect if there are confirmed patients around. If there is a confirmed patient in your vicinity, a notification will be sent to you.

The number displayed in MySJ Trace is the number of people you have contacted or interacted with today. If the number you see in MySJ Trace is 4, then you have had contact and interaction with 4 other MySejahtera users today. These 4 users do not necessarily have to be confirmed diagnosticians.

It is worth noting in particular that both parties must have Bluetooth and location enabled in MySJ Trace for the number of contacts to be displayed in MySJ Trace.

Some users find it strange that MySJ Trace shows numbers when it is clear that they were at home all day. It is understood that Bluetooth signals can be detected up to 10 meters away, so it is possible that neighbors are detected.

To enable MySJ Trace, you must first update MySejahtera to the latest version and then click on the MySJ Trace section on the Check-in page. If you agree to use MySJ Trace to interact with other users around you, you can click on I agree and then activate the location, Bluetooth and push notification features of your phone.

Health Minister Carey urged the public to actively use MySJ Trace, which will help the Ministry of Health to more quickly identify close contacts of confirmed patients and enable people to be the first to be tested for coronary disease when they learn they have been in contact with a confirmed patient. Carey also pointed out that if the number of MySJ Trace users does not meet the target, the government does not rule out the possibility of making it mandatory for people to use MySJ Trace when entering stores.
