Secondary school students return to school on April 4!

According to the information issued by Education Minister Razjiddin, all secondary schools in the country will start classes on March 21, but they will not be required to return to school until April 4. During this period, classes will be taught at home.

The Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) will be held from March 2 to March 29. During the SPM exam period, multiple classrooms will be requisitioned. In order to avoid shortage of classrooms, the Ministry of Education has decided to extend the time when secondary school students return to school in the new school year.

Secondary school students will have 2 weeks of home-based learning (PdPR) from March 21 to April 3, and all students will be allowed to return to school from April 4. This means that secondary school students will no longer use the model of taking turns to take classes in groups, but will return to school collectively.

The Ministry of Education also allows students to wear casual clothes to class, students only need to dress appropriately. If parents or guardians decide not to send their children to school for the time being, the Ministry of Education also respects the parents’ decision, but parents need to provide a notification letter to the school.

In addition, the Ministry of Education announcd that primary schools with fewer than 600 students can all return to school, while primary schools with more than 600 students continue to use the rotating group model. Year 1, 2 and 6 returned to school, while students in Year 3,4 and 5 took turns returning to school in groups.
