According to a message issued by the Malaysian Meteorological Department at 1:25pm on December 30, people are advised to be vigilant as there will be persistent rainfall in the near future in North Malaysia, East Coast and East Coast of Sabah.
Certain areas in Kuala Lumpur, Terengganu and Pahang states will have continuous rainfall until December 31. Perlis, Kedah, Perak, Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang and Johor will have continuous rainfall until January 1. The east coast of Sabah will have continuous rainfall until January 2.
The Meteorological Department will issue a yellow alert for specific areas once the rainfall is expected to last for more than 6 hours. When an area receives more than 60 mm of rainfall in 6 hours, the Meteorological Department will issue an orange level warning for that area. When an area receives more than 150 mm of rainfall within 24 hours, the Meteorological Office will issue a Red Level Warning for that area.

– Kelantan (Tanah Merah, Machang, Kuala Krai and Kwa Mu Sang)
– Terengganu (Besut, Hulu Terengganu and Donggong)
– Pahang State (Jerantut, Maran dan Pekan)
Yellow level warning
– Perlis
– Kedah (Kupang Pasu, Bok Sena, Padang Trapp, Pendang, Sikh and Baring)
– Perak (Hulu Perak) – Kelantan (Tumpat, Pasir Mas, Kota Bharu, Bachok dan Pasir Puteh)
